Here are four steps to build your own blue and green Lava lamps.
1.Gather Materials:
A glass-like container that is clear like an apothecary jar or vase.
This process involves water, vegetable oil, food coloring such as green and blue coloring along with Alka Seltzer or another sparkling tablets and glitter.
Fill Your Container:
Put vegetable oil in the glass jar until it’s about three quarters full. There should be some space left over the top.
Add a few drops of green and blue food color into a different container.
Pour the colored water gradually into a glass bottle that is containing oil. It will start to mix with the oil as it sinks into the bottom of the glass vessel.
Include Effervescent Tablets
To add Alka-Seltzer tablets that are effervescent break them into smaller pieces and drop them into oil. Be sure to watch them fall into the water until they reach the bottom.
When exposed to water, the tablet starts to react by forming bubbles that transport colored water upwards through oil into its center and create the “lava lamp” effect.
Relax and enjoy the spectacle:
Relax and watch the colored bubbles move across the oil’s surface in captivating patterns like those seen in the lava lamps.
If you wish to expand the display, you can add Alka-Seltzer Tablets. This will ensure that you maintain your speed of reaction.
To get your desired result, play around with various combinations of colors for food and alter the quantity of Alka-Seltzer tablet to suit your needs.
Beware of inhaling the fumes and inadvertently consuming tablets of Alka-Seltzer.
